Galactic Pot-Healer Philip K. Dick

It's been awhile since ITBK recommended a book...and there are so many to suggest. This is not a book about getting stoned, sorry! It's about a world where everything is plastic and ceramic is a valuable rarity. The hero is one of the few people around who can fix ceramic, a "pot-healer." Many of Philip K. Dick's books have been made into epic blockbuster films (i.e. Bladerunner & Minority Report) but so far no director has been able to communicate the poetic essence of his visionary mind. So get ceramic and buy the book: Galactic Pot-Healer

It is a fine fine book. Not his best. But very good. Martian Time Slip is a good entry read. Ubik being the most intense and disturbing. For me at least.
Another great SF author is
Ursula K LeGuin. The God Mother of Science Fiction. Lathe of Heaven and the Dispossessed being highly recomended.

On the Dick tip (snicker snicker)

The Scanner Darkly trailer is up now.
My friend Rory Cochrane is in it to win it.
