scene: Hoboken, midnight, March 17th. After the show, punk rock legend John Doe coils up his cords.

Doe: I only caught 2 songs but it was good, man.
McKean: Thanks, dude.
Doe: Man, your drummer is really good. Really good. Reminds me of Keith Moon.
McKean: Right on!
Doe: But don't tell him, it'll go to his head.
McKean: (laughs)
Doe: No, I mean it. It'll go to his head.
McKean: (laughs again)
Doe: No, really...Don't tell him.

i'm pretty sure mr. doe meant that your drummer, in his ill-fitting blazer and stupid haircut, a lager or three past his breaking point, reminded him of a bloated, aging, uncoordinated keith moon deflating 'Baba O'Reilly' live at leeds in 1982.

PS great show and great blog.
