Alexander "Skip" Spence OAR

People file this under "shattered drug-damaged genius" but just like with Syd Barrett, that kinda obscures the amazing music inside. Skip played guitar for Quicksilver Messenger Service, drums for one album with Jefferson Airplane, started Moby Grape...then it all hit the skids when his insanity led him to try to murder his bandmates. When you hear the the psychedelic soul of "Little Hands Clapping", you just feel bad that he couldn't get help and continue rocking. Just listen to some of the incredible outtakes you can get on the CD. We have listened to this record over and over and over over the years...
